Conference - Kentucky Libraries

The registration is open for the 2012 Joint Spring Conference with the KLA Academic Libraries Section, SLA Special Libraries Section and the SLA Kentucky Chapter. This conference is a tradition that provides two days of education and networking for librarians, students and staff in a relaxed environment.

The 2012 theme is Become the Library The Need: Understanding User Expectations and our Keynote speakers are SLA CEO Janice Lachance and former Kentuckian Catherine Lavallee-Welch.

We have two excellent information literacy pre-conference workshops planned:

· Student Expectations for Success: Measuring Information Literacy Contributions – Debbie Sharp, Judy Wiza & Sarah Vaughn – all from UK of course

· Active Learning at Eastern Kentucky, Georgetown & Transylvania Universities – Helen Bischoff of Georgetown College, Julie George & Clay Howard of Eastern Kentucky University, and Lisa Nichols of Transylvania University

We also have a dozen mini sessions and our first poster session which will be offered during the business meetings so there is something for everyone! Many UK colleagues will be sharing their expertise from Wednesday morning until Friday morning. So, consider joining us !

The Joint Spring Conference will be held April 13-15 at Lake Cumberland State Resort Park in Jamestown, Kentucky.

More details about the conference can be found in the attached brochure and on the web at http://tinyurl.com/JSC2012 .
