Steelcase Corporate Archives Internship
Position Available: Corporate Digital Archives Intern (2) positions available
Reports to: Director, Corporate Archives
Term: 6 months
Hours: 15-20 hours per week
Start Date: March 26, 2012 or later
Steelcase Inc. is seeking two library science students for a six-month digital archives internship at the Grand Rapids, MI global headquarters facility.
Under the supervision of the Archives director, interns will assist with the day-to-day operations of the Steelcase Corporate Archives. Duties include scanning, upload of items to DSpace, tagging items, processing of current holdings and new acquisitions, and assisting with reference requests.
Photoshop and scanning experience desired.
The successful candidates must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 40-pounds and climb a ladder to retrieve materials.
Applicants should submit a letter describing their interest in the corporate archives profession, a resume, transcripts of all completed undergraduate and graduate work, and a list of courses currently enrolled in.
